Once upon a time, in the City of Wakefield (circa 1982), Chris Hopton and Simon Hall started a small company called Lawcris Plywood, operating out of a 2 up 2 down house on Burrell Street.
As the company rapidly expanded, so did the premises, moving to our first proper unit on Bridge Street in 1985 and onto Thornes Lane Wharf in 1992.
In 1996, we made a massive jump to Leathley Road in Leeds. Rapid growth meant in 2001 we moved to Cross Green Industrial Estate where we ran our operation for 13 years.
In 2014, we moved to a 156,000 sq ft unit around the corner, on Knowsthorpe Gate, to which we operate out of today.
We are situated on what is regarded as one of Leeds's prime industrial warehouse locations with great access to both motorways, M1 and M62.
We have gone from strength to strength with over 200+ employees and operate out of 4 units which totals to over 200,000 sq ft.
We operate an effective 24 hour site with a dedicated sales team that are available from 7:30am - 6pm throughout the week.
Our main warehouse holds just over £6 million of stock. We have 7 bays for trucks which increases speed and efficiency of loading and unloading, not to mention our 32 forklifts! This simply means we can get more in and out of the door.
With a turnover in excess of over £100 million, we really do lead the field in wood based panel products, laminates and edgings.
Major distributorships with companies such as Kronospan, Egger, Finsa, Unilin, Pfleiderer, NDV, Decospan, Norbord, Döllken and Hettich have ensured that we can offer you the product you want when you want it.

Complementing the panel products division, we have heavily invested into the latest machining technology and bonding services, providing a rapid press, cut, edge and machine service.
