After a trip down to the Surface Design Show in Islington to check out the latest and greatest surface trends for 2018, we picked up a few hot tips so thought we would share the love and show you our 5 favourite surface trends for this year.
You can expect these surfaces to be popular requests in the coming months and it just so happens you can get them all at Lawcris (wink-wink), so get ahead of the game and have a browse below. Click the decor images to show more decor options.
Marble is, of course, a timeless classic. Choose pale marbles for an ultra-modern look, or go darker for a moodier style.
This year will see designers straying away from the whites and greys that have been prevalent in 2017 and opting for a greater variety of shades.
Metallics, especially gold and copper, were on trend in 2017 and this year they're going bigger and shinier.
Brushed metals are a great choice for a more understated look, but if you want to go bold we have metallic laminates that will make you drool.
You may remember last year we blogged about the rise of raw boards in modern interior design. If you missed it, catch up here.
The trend for natural materials will be big this year, and the stripped back, understated look and feel of rawboard works perfectly for this look.
The industrial trend embraces all things rough and raw, with a focus on interesting textures.
2018 is the year of the concrete surface which is expected to be hugely popular, as well as other replicated industrial materials. Working for both high end commercial projects as well as residential, the industrial trend creates a cool, modern look that feels bespoke.
Herringbone's distinctive chevron pattern has been appearing in trend forecasts from high fashion to flooring and we can't get enough, in fact we even mentioned it in our own 2018 trend forecast here.
We have a beautiful selection of herringbone floors suitable for commercial and domestic use, in a variety of colours.
This is just a small selection of the hundreds of surface decors and textures we have in stock. Don't forget, you can filter your results by texture, colour, manufacturer and more on the left hand side of our website.
